Courthouse Market Now Open 24/7
The long-awaited renovation of the Alexandria courthouse cafeteria is finally complete! The new and improved “Courthouse Market” is open for business seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day. So the next time a hearing goes late into the afternoon or a settlement conference extends well into the evening, you can find caffeine and sustenance in the Courthouse Market. See below for some amazing new features.
Convenience Mart
The main section of the Market stocks snack foods like chips, cookies, candy, and nuts, as well as over-the-counter pain relievers, cough drops, and allergy medications. There’s also a hot coffee station. The refrigerators/freezers house a broad selection of fresh, healthy food, including salads, sandwiches, and yogurt (and some unhealthy items, like ice cream!) and a variety of beverages. You’ll find a microwave and a vending machine that accepts cash or card in the seating area.
Cashless System
The Market uses a cashless checkout system: simply scan your items at one of the two kiosks and swipe, tap, or insert your credit/debit card. (You can also set up a personal account at the kiosk to be able to make future purchases without bringing any payment method.)
Want a hot meal?
Every Wednesday through Friday, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., various local restaurants will sell their most popular meals thanks to Fooda, a workplace food program. Visit their website and search for “Alexandria Federal Courthouse” to view the daily menus.
